Many students at FGS are athletes, and they can agree that it is not easy to be perfect at a sport, so why not play multiple sports? It’s good to test an athlete’s skills and mindset, so why would a young athlete play one sport and struggle when one can play multiple and thrive? Playing multiple sports reduces the risk of injury, helps students gain higher motor skills, and improves chances of academic success.
Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback of all time, loved playing multiple sports in high school. “Playing multiple sports made me a better athlete and a more competitive and resilient person. Each sport taught me something different and contributed to my overall growth as an athlete and individual.” As shown, playing more than one sport is incredibly beneficial for success. It doesn’t just help an athlete get better at sports, but it helps mindsets and overall growth as a person. It can help a person become a leader, and be involved with more teams while also helping with athletic performances.
Losing weight, becoming more robust physically, and having a stronger mindset are all the benefits of being a multisport athlete. So, why only play one sport when multiple can be played? Multisport athletes at FGS thrive.
